The U.S. House of Representatives on Monday overwhelmingly passed the bipartisan bill, which targets WuXi AppTec, WuXi Biologics and other Chinese biotech companies as potential national security risks.

The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, which is investigating the drugs’ costs, said in a statement that at its June 18 meeting it will weigh a subpoena requiring Novo Nordisk Inc President Doug Langa to testify at a July 10 hearing.

Two U.S. senators are demanding that the nation’s three largest insulin makers, Novo Nordisk (NOVOb.CO), Eli Lilly (LLY.N), and Sanofi (SASY.PA), provide details by Sept. 15 of their programs to help Americans get their insulin for $35 a month or less.

Tuesday, U.S. Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA) announced plans to hold an official markup session to discuss proposed legislation for lowering drug prices. The hearing is scheduled for May 2.
