The Dexcom Stelo Glucose Biosensor System is intended for anyone 18 years and older who does not use insulin, such as individuals with diabetes treating their condition with oral medications, or those without diabetes who want to better understand how diet and exercise may impact blood sugar levels.
FreeStyle Libre, the company’s glucose monitoring (CGM) device used mainly by type 1 diabetes patients, brought in sales of about $1.4 billion in the third quarter, up 30.5%, and accounting for nearly 14% of the company’s revenue.
The company plans to invest 300 million euros ($330.8 million) over the next five years to build a manufacturing site in Ireland, creating up to 1,000 jobs.
